I have developed and made available this tool for word counting.

By pasting your text into the field, you instantly get the following details:

• The number of words;
• The number of characters forming the words (special characters are excluded);
• The number of special characters (spaces, tabs, punctuations, digits, etc.);
• The total number of characters;
• Word occurrences sorted by frequency;
• Special character occurrences sorted by frequency;

Nothing more. Just the essentials.

Usefulness

In many fields, it is necessary to count the words in a text. For example, a minimum or maximum word count is often required for poems, dissertations, reports, blog posts, newsletters, emails, or newspaper articles. Additionally, analyzing word occurrences is useful to control repetitions and replace certain words with synonyms, if necessary. This tool is particularly useful as it distinguishes between characters forming words and special characters, allowing for different types of counts depending on the use case. For example, a text intended for printing on a banner will benefit from counting all characters, as a special character takes up the same space as any other character. However, for a dissertation, counting punctuation characters is of little relevance.

Technical Features
