Generate Secure Passwords

I have developed and made available to you this password generator.
Various configuration options are available:
- Number of passwords to generate;
- Length of passwords to generate;
- Selection of special characters;
- Options to include numbers, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, or special characters;
- Choice of the first character.
Security
What is a strong password?
The more different characters a password contains, the stronger it is.
- A password with 8 characters made up of only numbers has 100,000,000 possible combinations.
- A password with 8 characters including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters has 3,743,895,501,328,960 possible combinations.
A strong password should have the maximum number of possible combinations (diversity of character types). A password generated via the tool will include at least one of the selected character types.
Types of attacks to crack a password
- Brute force: Testing all possible combinations until the correct password is found;
- Dictionary attack: Testing combinations from a predefined dictionary of common passwords, such as
azerty,123456, etc.
Why change passwords regularly?
Your password might have leaked from a secure system to which you are registered. Regularly changing your password prevents unauthorized access to your account during the time between when your password was stolen and when someone attempts to access your account.
Why use different passwords for every site?
For the same reason as above, a password stolen from site A could be tried on site B. If the passwords are the same, the malicious user can access other systems with the same credentials.
To manage all your login credentials/passwords, you can use Keepass, LastPass, or 1Password.
